minnesota cybersecurity comanies

Minnesota is a hotbed of cybersecurity talent. To access that amazing talent, you should partner with a local cybersecurity company.

If you’re looking to for cybersecurity help with advisory services, consulting, or initiatives and want to support local Minnesota business instead of a regional or national company then we’ve prepared this list for you.

Below we’ve attempted to list out all the local Minnesota cybersecurity companies. Some I know personally, others I’ve consumed their content and material, and some I haven’t work with at all.

I’ve attempted tag these Minnesota cybersecurity companies with skills, abilities, and specialties, but again there is so much talent that please don’t use this as a single source of truth. I bet these Minnesota companies can do a lot more than what’s listed below. Instead use it as a reference to identify companies to reach out to and start a conversation with.

If you are a Minnesota cybersecurity company, and I failed to include you here – please reach out to me and I’ll get you added. Trust me, it wasn’t out of trying to control who’s on the list, it was just out of ignorance as it’s hard to know everyone.

Focus Point Technologies

This amazing team is lead by a dear friend of mine and longtime mentor. They have become one of the leaders in Minnesota for local cybersecurity leadership and support. They have a great team of professionals including cybersecurity talent from a wide range of pillars and practices. I have worked with them, and know many of the people on staff here. They are all top-notch professionals with an incredible ability to serve their clients and deliver value.

Lead by two of Minnesota’s finest cybersecurity professionals this Minnesota company is dedicated to helping businesses find their vulnerabilities and identify exploit vectors. They test internally and externally using a range of tools and talent. They perform white box and black box testing and provide overlapping reports that show mitigating and compensating controls to give the business a clear view and report to what their true risk posture is. They are doing an amazing job and they are an amazing team. I can’t say enough good things about them.

They all speak very highly of FRSecure and their leadership and abilities. This is a business that clearly knows what they’re doing, performs a high value of service by bringing all the right talent and abilities to their clients.

Abstract Forward

Again, I have not worked with this Minnesota cybersecurity company before. But I do consume their content. They publish an amazing podcast called ‘Abstract Forward‘. This podcast is for anyone and everyone interested in learning more about cybersecurity, the complexity of technology, and the complexity of business risk. They go into how people make decisions, and what impact that has the organization. These are highly valuable conversations they are presenting in this podcast and definitely show what a high caliber group of cybersecurity professionals represent this local Minnesota company.

Protocol46

#advisors, #consultants

I don’t personally know this team. I was told about them from a friend I trust. Their well-done website shows how they advise on the whole spectrum of cybersecurity risk and perform advisory services in six key areas; asses, secure, defend, respond, recover, and educate. They are leveraging the industry-leading cybersecurity framework of NIST to base their services off of. Their website shows they provide assessments, email protection, devices, hardware and software, and some other services. They appear to be a solid and talented cybersecurity consulting company.

7 Minute Security

# assessments, #pen testing, #training

The leadership of 7 Minute Security presented at Minnesota’s local security conference Secure360 in St.Paul. Through listening to them I became quickly confident of their skills and abilities. They are very knowledgeable and approachable. It’s always really encouraging to me to you see local Minnesota cybersecurity companies giving back, and sharing with the local security community what they’ve learned. This helps all of us out, and their transparency really speaks to their confidence and abilities. I haven’t directly worked with them but can testify through listening they know their stuff.

NetSPI

#pen testing, #compliance

NetSPI has been around for a long time, longer than most Minnesota cybersecurity companies. They had a lot of success delivering highly qualified and valuable penetration tests to local Minnesota businesses. I’ve worked with NetSPI several times and can attest to the amazing talent they have on staff. They really know their stuff and have provided highly valuable assessments that I’ve been able to leverage to quickly improve the security and risk posture of companies.

Universal Network Solutions

#MSSP, #security architecture, #SaaS, #training, #compliance

I learned about this local Minnesota cybersecurity company through LinkedIn. They appear to have a large range of security capabilities to complement local businesses. Their website shows they’ve recently added managed security services and managed architecture services. They have a lot to offer and I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to them.

Arctic Wolf

#MSSP

Here is a local Minnesota managed security service provider! So excited about them. I haven’t had the opportunity to work with them, but I know others that have. I recently met with a client that uses them as their managed security service provider and depends on them to protect highly valuable assets. The client spoke very highly of them and especially their customer service and high touch relationship. Believe me, when I say, this kind of relationship is extremely difficult to find. If you’re tired of your national MSSP, give Arctic Wolf a call.
